Moon Alchemy Pt.1

Have you heard the quote, “The only thing constant in life is change”?

Well, I would like to add the MOON to that quote. It has been a guidepost in the sky for millennia, and when we attune to the moon, a practice rooted in mindfulness and mysticism, we cultivate deeper self-awareness, spiritual growth, healing, and transformation …AND it’s really fun!

Moon alchemy and the moon phases.

The RELEASE phase of the lunar cycle.

We are in the waxing gibbous phase of the lunar cycle where we are invited to release release release all the way up to and including the full moon.

At the waxing gibbous phase, a few days out from the full moon, it is a potent time to start the RELEASE process. As the moon grows, so too can the emotions. I tend to feel all the feels and can be overwhelmed by them during this time. 🙋‍♀️

So, if you are feeling wobbly, angry or overwhelmed or finding that your emotions are cluttering up your energy field, have a look at the following self-care practice that can prepare you for the full moon.

Rant & Rave (Expressive) Journaling:

Feel it, write it, burn it, and release it.

  • Centre yourself and have pen and paper ready.

  • Tap in – feel the feels and acknowledge it all.

  • Write out all grievances – anything that comes to the surface.

  • No sugarcoating or spiritualizing – write everything as is.

  • When finished, burn the paper (s) right away.

  • Let it all go while the fire transmutes the energy into the ethers.

  • Repeat as necessary

This isn’t about spiritual bypassing; it’s about keeping it real and allowing the emotions to be FELT and FLOWING through us. The unedited “beefs” are up and out and not sticking onto anyone else. It’s like clutter-clearing for clarity; it sets us up for next-level release and healing at the full moon.

And yes the full moon comes next!

Full Moons are about RELEASING, LETTING GO, FORGIVING and MOVING AWAY FROM anything and everything that is not aligned or for our highest good.

How do we do this?

Using a ritual or ceremony that allows for energetic release.

We have been practicing ritual and ceremony for centuries or more at the full moon, tapping into its magic, power, and potent healing energy. Some like to gather with like-minded souls to share in the magic. And some, like myself, enjoy it as a solo act.

When I say ritual or ceremony, I really just mean a mindful practice that creates space to honour ourselves, the moon, and our higher source. It can be elaborate or simple, long or short. There is no right or wrong, so my advice is to do what feels authentic and comfortable for you.

In my practice, I start by creating a quiet space the night before the full moon peaks. I light a candle, centre and ground myself, ask for guidance, and have paper and pen ready.

As I write, I imagine the moonlight illuminating what is no longer working for me and my highest good. I intend to release, let go, and move away from all that is either completed or blocking and stopping forward movement in my life.

Whether that be mindset, people, places, situations, wounds, patterns, or limiting beliefs that cause me to stop, stagnate, or feel lost, I allow it all to be shown trusting that it is ready to be released.

Once I am done writing I burn the paper safely (a burn ceremony), watch the flames, and imagine it all being sent off to be transmuted into the ethers with love and gratitude.

I say something like, “Thank you (to the moon, my guides, my source) for shining the light on all that is no longer serving. I am grateful for the lessons and the wisdom gained. I am ready to release, let go, and forgive anything and everything that isn’t for my highest good.” So be it.

I then write a gratitude list or a list of higher vibration thoughts. Energetically, space is being made, and I want to fill that space with higher vibes before any low-vibe thoughts or energies can seep in. I write out all that brings me peace, joy, appreciation, and gratitude. It’s a bit like a soothing balm for the mind, body, and soul.

What else do I do at the full moon?

I also charge my crystals, say a forgiveness mantra under the moonlight and, when I feel inclined, I make moon water.

Other RELEASE tips:

·       Remember to be specific about what is being released and forgiven.

·       There can be layers of healing, so it isn’t always a one-and-done process but we have many full moons to work with.

·       Consider pulling oracle or tarot cards and ask self-reflective questions. Trust what comes in.

·       Allow emotions to flow – they can be cathartic and a sign of release and healing. Go easy and be gentle with yourself.

·       We can also look at astrology and see what zodiac sign is flavouring the energy of the full moon. This can guide us to become aware of a life aspect that needs some releasing and forgiving attention.

The full moon on October 6th is in the sign of ARIES, the beginning of the zodiac sings so it can be a time of completing or bringing to a close the projects/situations/relationships and starting new ones, releasing what is stopping you from a new beginning.

We can also ask the question of ourselves…

What do I want to release and let go of that is in the way of my authentic expression, my true identity?

What wants to be changed in my personal appearance and self expression and what stops me from doing it?

 Happy Full Moon to you.

May you make the space to create the life you want to live, the one that truly represents the essence of you✨

Stay curious and take care out there friends
